Cats from your neighbors gardens can be a nuisance for a variety of reasons. Find out about safe and humane ways to keep them off your property.

Generally ultrasonic repellers are the ultimate cat deterrent, they're are not the cheapest solution but they are the most effective. Bear in mind that the cost of these ultrasonic repellers is a one off cost, and if you buy a solar powered one there is no need to replace or recharge batteries.

  1. Ultrasonic

Also give ultrasonic repellers a few weeks to deter the cats, initially cats may see the repeller as an enemy that needs to be challenged, when they realize they cannot win they will keep away for good.

  2. Granules

Granules are a cheap solution but of course you need to keep buying more to keep the cats away. Eventually you will have spent far more than if you bought an ultrasonic repeller.

  3. Waterjet repellers

Water jet sprayer models are another option, cheaper than the ultrasonic repellers but less effective and harder to install and maintain because of the hose pipe attachment. You and your pets also risk being sprayed as you pass by them. Water jet sprayers typically have a range of 1 to 3m depending on your hose pipe water pressure.

See our list below of the best repellers compared side by side. If you have a large garden to protect you would need more than one ultrasonic repeller which normally cover an arc of around 100 degrees for 7 to 10m.
