PestBye Advanced Fox Repellant Scarer
The PestBye Advanced Fox Scarer is an ultrasonic fox repeller that is triggered when the passive infra red motion sensor detects the body heat of an animal passing infront of it. The ultrasonic sound which is inaudible to humans is disturbing to foxes and scares them away. Your garden birds would be unaffected however it will also work for dogs and cats.
Because the sound is only triggered by the fox's movement it will learn over time that to avoid the sound it must keep away from the area. For this reason the repeller may take weeks to become fully effective against your local foxes.
The range of the ultrasonic signal is up to 16 metres and it covers an arc of 120 degrees, to cover larger areas you may need to purchase multiple repellers.
The unit comes with a stake to position it in the ground. It takes two 9v batteries or can be powered by an optional extra power supply so you can plug it into the mains. The battery life should be 1-3 months depending on how many times a day that the repeller is triggered. Some users report the batteries lasting only a month or so, it could be they have a defective unit or it is being triggered inadvertently by other animals.
